MARBELLA – Dead whale in the waters of Marbella
Sad find this Friday in the waters of Marbella
Sad find this Friday in the waters of Marbella, where around eleven o’clock in the morning Salvamento Marítimo gave notice of the appearance of the corpse of a blue whale at the height of Puerto Banús. The vessel Vega used its hull to direct the body of the cetacean to the port of Bajadilla, where Civil Protection and agents of the fire brigade of Marbella were in charge of recovering the body of the animal. The animal, of six meters in length, has been towed to the Port of La Bajadilla for its extraction.
It is not the first time that an event of this type takes place in Marbella waters since a little more than ten years ago, in 2008, a whale significantly larger than the one found today, died stranded on the Petunias beach. On that occasion it was an animal 19 meters long, and its appearance on the beach gathered thousands of people around the tragic and unusual event.
