The AP-7 freeway is within close reach and can take the residents in La Zagaleta to Malaga Airport and to Gibraltar Airport in approximately one hour. It was developed by Enrique Pérez Flores on a large private hunting ground formerly owned by affluent businessman Adnan Khashoggi. How many sectors does La Zagaleta have?

Who owns La Zagaleta?

La Zagaleta, one of the most exclusive residential estates in Europe, located in Benahavís (Málaga, Spain), is currently owned by Modon Holding P.S.C., a business group based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
In December 2024, Modon Holding acquired 100% of La Zagaleta S.L., the company that owns the estate.

This acquisition is part of Modon Holding’s international expansion strategy, aiming to strengthen its presence in the European luxury real estate market. The deal also includes the development of the Majarambuz project (formerly Valderrama II) in Castellar de la Frontera, Cádiz, on a 2.2 million square meter plot.

Modon Holding is a public joint-stock company whose majority shareholders are ADQ (Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company) and IHC Group (International Holding Company), both closely linked to the Abu Dhabi royal family.

La Zagaleta was originally developed in the 1990s by a group of entrepreneurs led by Enrique Pérez Flores. It occupies a 900-hectare estate that previously belonged to businessman Adnan Khashoggi.
